Reddit user nigelandtheghost (https://www.reddit.com/user/nigelandtheghost) attached a GoPro camera to his dog to see what the dog did when he left the house. Whine, pace, and howl. This is separation anxiety. The one way I know to combat this is give your dog activities during the day like regular dog walks or doggie daycare for instance.
Alternatively, you might want to consider a WIFI-based treat dispenser for your pet by http://www.petchatz.com. It's a small and connects to a wall outlet and it allows you to FaceTime with your pet via your iPhone. What makes it special is the treat dispenser to reward your pet when he or she follows commands. There's also a scent dispenser. I can only wonder what they smell like. Petchatz has pretty much thought of everything by adding in motion sensors to let you know when your pet is active. Need a special ringtone to let your pet know you're calling, they include it. I'd say it's all pretty neat. Your pet will need to be trained in using the Petchatz, but there are instructional videos available on their website. The only downside is the price. It's $349, but if you use it every weekday, even multiple times a day, while you're at work, I think it will pay off in the end.
But will your dog recognize you on video? Check out the answer in the video below:
If anyone of my readers currently uses PetChatz, please contact me. I would love to know what your experience with PetChatz and whether or not it's worth the price.
