Little Gertie has a very big personality!
After Chou-chou died from a rapid bone cancer, her parents and Billie mourned. She was so loved. I mourned too because Chou-Chou was great -- huggable, fun, and smart -- even though she snored like a freight train. : D But a few months later, they picked up Gertie. As you can see her ears are bigger than she is. Her birthday is April 7th. She's now six months old and comes from a breeding line that has 13 champions. Her parents are going to have her fixed, so she doesn't have a future as a show dog, just as a huggable show-off. ; D She's much smaller than Billie, but they get along great even though Billie is blind. I'm going to petsit for Gertie and Billie's parents in a few weeks, so I was excited to meet with Gertie today and touch base with her parents on other major changes. As it turns out, Billie has hypothyroidism and needs a 1/2 pill twice a day, but the upside is that he's back to his perky self and isn't sleeping all day long. : D Gertie's dad provided this photo. : D
