I just want to give a shout out to Weebly.com because I've been in web content development and I've dealt with difficult websites and difficult programs. I've coded HTML and it's fun and challenging, but when I want things done, I want something like Weebly. I find that Weebly fits all my needs. It makes it easy to drag and drop content (text or youtube videos), drag in Google Adsense (not getting rich mind you, but every bit helps) and drag other interesting features like Bookings, which allows clients and new to the website to set up a free consultation. That's pretty neat considering all I have to do is drag where I want it to appear on the page. I've been pleased with Weebly's customer service even when I have had the occasional issue that needed attention, but overall things was handled in time.
I'm just posting this because I know what it is to build a site from scratch, to actually write the code, to mess with BBedit, Dreamweaver, and other website programs. They lose their charm fast. There are no medals for writing your own code when the only thing that matters is a good looking, functional website. My philosophy is that life is better spent on things you can improve on, not on things that have already been done and done better. Weebly does better. I created a snappy looking website with little effort. It does all I expect it too and I'm confident in whatever improvement Weebly has in store in the future.
To contrast this, I originally started with GoDaddy.com and that website is the equivalent of nails on a chalk board. I couldn't find my way to what I need to do because at every turn GoDaddy is trying to sell me something else. Ugh. I wanted GoDaddy to die a violent death because it took my money and didn't give me the service I needed. It gave me the service it wanted, which was hard sells on every page, on every page, at every turn. I don't want that. I want to create and manage my website where there isn't chatter, there isn't someone else calling my attention, something else distracting me from my --
-- work. Sorry, there was a bird outside chirping. That kind of interruption is okay.
