Well, this sucks. #2023 WAS going well, until I somehow developed a pinched nerve in my right leg and lower back pain. I think my motorcycle suit is too tight. Both conditions are VERY PAINFUL and haven't resolved themselves. I can't even stand long enough to finish doing my dishes. I've taken last week off and this upcoming week (5/13-5/19) and may need more time after that. I finally saw the spine doctor today and will be going for an MRI next Thursday. I'll keep you posted.
#2023 is going well.
Been so busy with new clients and more dogwalks that I haven't had time to update the website.
I hope you and yours are happy and healthy.
#Corona got me at the end of 2022!
I had a masked hour consultation with a client regarding her cat's new meds. I was masked. She wasn't. She tested positive the day after. Not her fault. She offered. I thought I was protected with just one of us masked, but we did spend a lot of time together. Anyway, I tested positive 11/29/2022. I landed in the hospital 12/1-12/5. I continued to test positive until 12/10 until I got my second negative 12/14. Doctor okay'd my return to work on 12/19/2022. Yay me!
#Coronavirus Update: I received my second Pfizer Vaccine on 3/31/21.
I was fully vaccinated on 3/31/2021 and have returned to dog walking and petsitting on 4/21/2021.
I recently got my 3rd Pfizer shot 10/29/2021. I still wear a mask when I encounter people.
#Coronavirus Update 12/8/20: still isolating, but I re-opened Over and Out OXOX merch at Redbubble.
#Coronavirus UPDATE: 4/15/20
Back on 3/4, my endocrinologist recommended that I self-isolate. I've been doing that since 3/6. I contacted my clients on 3/12, letting them all know that I would be unavailable indefinitely. More recently, my endocrinologist sent me a letter recommending that I quarantine myself until the Covid-19 crisis is over. My autoimmune diseases that put me at a very high risk of complications should I catch the virus. So given my very healthy sense of fear, I've basically been quarantined since 3/6, only going out when everyone is asleep to get my mail and toss my garbage. I get everything else delivered -- with the help of some very generous clients. Other clients sent money to help me along in this rough patch.
I am so very grateful for my amazing clients!

What does Over and Out mean? I come over and I take your dogs out. Over and Out Petsitting means:
Over means overnights and day-time petsitting at your home. Overnight rates. My clients hire me to look after their pets and property overnight, while they're away for a busy weekend or a restful 6-week+ vacation. Out means dog walking. Dog walking rates. Daily dog walks every day of the week to let your dog stretch his legs, while you're at work or otherwise occupied. A dog that exercises will be happy, healthy, calm, and will live longer. Over and Out means message received. You can be confident that your lovable pet will get the care, exercise, and attention exactly as discussed. I LOVE DETAILED WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS from my clients. Those notes keep us on the same page so we're both clear on what is expected and what is to be done. I do frequently ask my clients to make sure their instructions are up to date. I did have an an experience in which a client assured me that her notes on various medicines were up to date, but they were not and I inadvertently gave her dog an unnecessary medication. Thankfully there was no harm, but that is the main reason I insist on updates. Over and Out also means you'll receive frequent photos and emails updates on your pet's day. Maybe too many photos. ; D |

Robin G. owns and operates Over and Out Petsitting. There are no employees, just Robin, who looks after pets and creates fun stuff for this website. Yay! In fact, Robin is writing this right now. She's busy. Ah. Robin would love for you to know that she grew up with pets. First there was Heidi the doxxie, Mimi the tabby, then Mimi the second tabby, then Tebby the black lab, whose passing was curiously followed by the arrival of Maxwell the stray cat on the front stoop the very next day. It was curious because Maxwell had the same markings as Tebby, and yes, Maxwell walked right inside like he owned the place. Curious. Apparently reincarnation transverses cat and dog lines. Moving on from karma and reincarnation... In the past, Robin has been a web content developer—see the pretty website?— a post production assistant, and a dental assistant. None of those jobs were as satisfying as spending a day, an hour, or even a few minutes petting a happy dog or a purring cat. Hint: petting furry animals releases oxytocin in the brain. So yes, technically Robin is addicted to your pets. But then, you are too! Robin has taken care of small dogs, big pitbulls, heavy old dogs, frisky cats, old cats, gerbils, and one gecko. A good many of the dogs have been old, handicapped, and on medications. Some had to wear diapers, some were blind, and some had to be carried out to the backyard for a pee. One had explosive diarrhea, in the bed, in the middle of the night, while Robin was sleeping, but we won't get into that. Shudder. But no matter what your pet's condition might be, Robin can help. Several clients have complain jokingly that their dogs look disappointed when they return. It's true, but it also means that the pets are relaxed and happy as opposed to anxious, whirling dervishes, which is never good. And while kennels and doggie hotels sound nice in theory, it still means putting your sweet fuzzy loved one in a strange location without your comforting presence or familiar surroundings or his or her regular routine. And worse, dogs in kennels or in doggy day care can contract illnesses. A client's dog contracted mouth warts in daycare. Shudder. It took months for the warts to go away. In-your-home petsitting offers two great things: one, your pets will be given the best care in a familiar location with a familiar routine and two, your home won't be empty temptation to intruders while you're gone. Bonus, right!? I'm already 55, so I'm hoping Over and Out OXOX merch sales will help boost my income and it will be something that will help should I go through another bout with cancer. Should I get lucky and I make a ton of sales, then I plan to donate 10% to The Rescue Train, which is a great 503c non-profit that helps all kinds of pet rescues. You should check them out. Or you could donate directly to The Rescue Train!
